Our latest industrial steel building completed
Our client required an industrial building for use as a vehicle MOT testing station and mechanical workshop.
The site was a former landfill site in South Wales, with a low weight bearing capacity. Due to this the buildings base had to be set on 20no. 250mm x 250mm square piles the longest being 22 metres deep.
The site is in wind zone D, at 10 meters altitude and 1.6 kilometres from the coast.
The building is 15 meters wide x 24 meters long x 6meters high to the eave and 7.32 meters to the ridge. This gives an internal floor area of 360 square meters or 3875 square feet.
The building is clad with 60mm thick composite cladding on the walls and 80mm thick composite cladding on the roof. The main colour is ‘Willow’ with ‘Vandyke Brown’ door, flashings, and gutters. The front gable end wall is over clad with ‘Vandyke Brown’ for aesthetic effect.
